Hello from Rendsburg, Unfortunately, I now have to contact you again, the damage complained about on September 1st, 2023 is defective despite the repair being carried out! Facts: I bought the Audi A4 at the Audi Center Rostock in 07/2021. Just 7 months after purchase, the timing belt / various tension rollers caused problems. I first contacted the Audi Center ROSTOCK to get the costs covered. After confirming that the costs would be covered, the AUDI ZENTRUM KIEL began work, but they only discovered that the timing belt was defective and could not find a cause. As a customer, I expressed in writing my WISH that all parts would be exchanged in return for the costs being borne by me. The request was IGNORED!! On the day of collection I said to Ms. S. Quote: "You haven't fixed the cause, I'll definitely be back on your mat with the same problem!" In August 2023 I had to realize that I was right, the chirping noise of the timing belt's deflection pulley could be heard again. Together with my work colleague, we took down the upper timing belt cover and discovered that the timing belt was clearly not tensioned enough (see picture at the beginning). Upon further troubleshooting, we could see that the camshaft sprocket was wobbling/warped. I immediately informed the Audi Center KIEL and asked them to rework the work that had been carried out! Which, as I already noted above, was carried out sloppily! Ms. S. asked me again to park my vehicle at the Audi Center in Kiel, and on September 1st, 2023 the madness began again. It quickly became clear that the tension pulley and deflection pulleys needed to be replaced. The camshaft gear was also replaced at my request. As a master mechanic, it's a disgrace to me that a premium car dealership makes such a botch-up and then asks the customer to pay! As far as I know, if there is a timing belt problem, everything will be replaced! You learn this in the first year of your apprenticeship. I suspect that the journeyman who carried out the work did not check the following points: Running of the camshaft (front side where the camshaft gear is screwed on) Running of the crankshaft Check whether the timing belt has elongated due to the seizing of the camshaft gear What wasn't changed: timing belt water pump This is NOT a professional repair! I would also like to point out that I am convinced that the motor has been faulty since the first delivery! A camshaft gear should not have such an imbalance. Furthermore, I am convinced that if the belt drive had been properly checked, this should have been noticed! As an expert, I and my colleague as an automotive journeyman saw this immediately! I find it an impudence to burden the customer with the poor diagnosis on the part of AUDI ZENTRUM KIEL and quality control upon first delivery as a result of repairs. I hope that Audi will now do this properly in the form of rework. I will then comment on this again here. edit: After 4 days still no contact by phone or email. When asked by phone at reception, only the statement: "The colleagues will contact you as soon as they can!"
